Charné Le Roux is a partner in the Trade Mark Litigation Department at Adams & Adams in Cape Town and is also the partner responsible for the firm’s sustainability program. Charné holds Bluris, LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria and holds 23 years experience, post admission. She specialises in the prosecution and litigation of trade marks as well as advertising, domain name, copyright and competition law litigation.
She has since 2003 acted as a domain name panelist for the World Intellectual Property Organisation and is a senior domain name adjudicator of the SA Institute of Intellectual Property Law. She was selected as Fellow of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers in 2015 and 2016 and currently serves as a member of its Intellectual Property Constituency. Charné regularly speaks at conferences with international and local audiences on various IP topics and has published articles and co-authored international text books on copyright, domain name law and regulatory practices including IP.
