    Ms. Suliman is an admitted attorney, notary public and conveyancer as well as a qualified trade mark practitioner. She is a member of the Kwazulu-Natal Law Society and a fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law. Ms. Suliman specializes in intellectual property law, particularly trade mark and copyright law, and has experience in the following areas:

    • trade mark searches/ clearance, filings, prosecution and maintenance (in South Africa and abroad);
    • trade mark portfolio management and due diligence;
    • trade mark enforcement/ litigation – including oppositions (in South Africa and abroad), trade mark infringement, passing off/ unlawful competition, domain name disputes and company name objections);
    • anti-counterfeiting;
    • copyright advice as well as assignments, licensing and infringement; and
    • advertising law
