Keoagile William Modisakeng was born in Rustenburg in October 1976. After matriculating from HF Tlou High School he enrolled for a BSc Biochemistry & Microbiology at University of the North. This was followed by his Honours in Biochemistry, also at the University of the North. He completed his PhD in Biochemistry in 2006, through Rhodes University, with a doctorate in "Isolation and characterization of genes encoding Heat Shock Protein 70s (hsp70s) from the two species of coelacanth, Latimeria chalumnae and Latimeria menadoensis. He was awarded his Doctrate in mid-April 2007.
William is currently employed as a candidate attorney with Adams & Adams and is enrolled with University of South Africa (UNISA) to complete his LLB, and is a valued member of the Patent Department.
William's achievements to date, including various published works, are worthy of praise and pride. We wish him every continued success in his specialised field of practice!

McDonalds refused leave to appeal by Supreme Court of Appeal
In an order dated 28 January 2008, the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa has dismissed (with costs) an application by McDonalds International Property Co. Limited for leave to appeal against a decision of the Full Bench of the Transvaal Provincial Division of the High Court upholding an earlier decision of the Registrar of Trade Marks refusing cancellation of the McBiscuit trade mark registration on the basis of several registrations for Mc and Mac trade marks. |
