The firm, which was started by Harry Adams in Bureau Lane, Pretoria, in 1908, has grown in stature and reputation to become the largest intellectual property law firm in South Africa, strongly supported by our commercial, civil litigation and property law departments.

With offices in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban we also represent local and international clients in more than 50 African countries and in virtually every country abroad. The latest addition to our practice is an office in Maputo, Mozambique.

We are committed to transformation and have recently been verified as a level 5 Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment entity by the authoritative Emdex Trust. At least 50 percent of our employees are from previously disadvantaged groups and a large portion is female.

We have undertaken various projects to celebrate our Centenary in 2008. These include increasing intellectual property awareness through a sponsored programme on Summit TV, co-operation with various universities and other institutions, hosting a function at the South African Embassy in Berlin during the International Trademark Association’s annual meeting, and various other Centenary events.

We look forward to continuing to serve our local and international clients at the highest international standards and to play an important role in the South African professional and socio-economic context for many, many years to come.

We are grateful to all our clients for all your support of the firm over the years.

Chris Job
Chairman
