Adams & Adams wins Top Gender Empowerment Company award

Renowned law firm Adams & Adams won the Top Gender Empowered Company award in the business support services category at the annual Top Women in Business and Government Awards held last night, Wednesday 18th November 2009.
Adams & Adams Chairperson Chris Job had this to say:
“In our more than 100 years’ existence women have played a significant role in our development and will continue to do so. We are proud to be part of the changing South African environment. More than 70 percent of our employees are female.”
Prof Esmé du Plessis, patent attorney and senior consultant at the firm was also selected as one of the finalists in the Top Woman Executive for 2009 category. Esmé was the first woman to serve articles of clerkship at Adams & Adams and the first woman in South Africa to qualify as a patent agent. In 1966 she became the firm’s first female partner.

Coldplay’s latest single, “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” had been released for only hours, if not minutes, when accusations of plagiarism surfaced from all corners.
It only takes listening to the first few seconds of the new Coldplay song to recognise the striking similarity between it and the opening melody of the piano riff of the 1976 song performed by Peter Allan, “I Go To Rio”. |
