Adams & Adams scores a level five B-BBEE status

Adams & Adams has been verified as a level five broad-based black economic empowerment company by the authoritative Empowerdex Trust.
The verification deems Adams & Adams as a generic enterprise with a B-BBEE procurement recognition of 80%. It is deemed 2.2% black-owned and 1.1% owned by black women.
The verification is determined according to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act No. 53 of 2003, the government’s Black Economic Empowerment Strategy and the Codes of Good Practice released by the Department of Trade and Industry of February 2007.

As a defence, the respondent argued that the mark VELCRO has been used by third parties for several decades to describe ”loop and hook fasteners” and has become generic. |
