11 February 2011 marked an auspicious day for Adams & Adams: the introduction of clients to the law firm’s new premises at Lynnwood Bridge in Pretoria. Adams & Adams also took advantage of the opportunity to launch its new corporate identity.

More than 500 guests, including members of South Africa’s top corporates, attended the dazzling event, which featured a performance from South African supergroup, The Parlotones. The evening was an overwhelming success, attracting favourable comments from guests, who commended all aspects from the quality of the performers to the event design and catering but most importantly, the speakers’ presentations.

The firm was delighted to host various dignitaries and guests representing Adams & Adams offices in Angola and Mozambique including Fernando dos Santos (Director of the Mozambique Industrial Property Office), Dr Barros Licença (Director General of the Angolan Industrial Property Institute), Gift Sibanda (Director General, ARIPO) and Christopher Kiige (Technical Director, ARIPO). Also in attendance were Elio Teixeira, Carlos Martins and Jacinto Pedro Ucuahamba from Adams & Adams Africa offices in Mozambique and Angola.

Adams & Adams chairman and partner, Dario Tanziani, took great pleasure in showing off the new premises. “The magnificent new building and its location are an indication of our growth, our confidence in ourselves, our firm, country and continent, and our optimism for the future,” he commented.

He was equally proud of the new corporate identity, explaining that Adams & Adams’ logo has been updated in order to reflect the firm’s evolution. Although the new corporate identity has retained elements harking to Adams & Adams’ heritage, the new look hints at the firm’s bold strides into the future. “Adams & Adams has grown to become one of the largest law firms in the country and the southern hemisphere, and certainly the largest IP firm in the southern hemisphere,” Tanziani said.

“The makeover was driven not only by a desire on our part to look better but, just as importantly, a desire to be better at what we do,” he concluded.
