Adams & Adams appoints five associates

Adams & Adams has appointed two senior associates and three associates.

Godfrey Budeli and Lindie Serrurier have been appointed as senior associates.
Godfrey specialises in trade mark litigation and passing-off, copyright and counterfeit goods act litigation and close corporation and company name objections. He is a member of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces and the Black Lawyers Association. He is also a student of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law. He holds an LLB degree from the University of Pretoria and an LLM degree from the University of Cape Town.


Lindie is a qualified trade mark practitioner and specialises in international and local trade mark filing, searches and prosecution, advertising law, trade mark litigation and passing-off and close corporation and company name objections. She is a fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law and a member of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces. She holds a BA degree and an LLB from the University of Cape Town.

Hendrik Pretorius, Nishan Singh and Jac Marais have been appointed as associates.

Hendrik also works in the Commercial, Property and Litigation department, as part of the High Court and Magistrate’s Court litigation team, also focusing on family law and personal injury law resulting from medical negligence, motor vehicle accidents and other causes. Hendrik is a member of the Law Society of the Northern Province and holds an LLB degree and B Accounting degree from the University of Bloemfontein.

Nishan, a qualified trade marks practitioner, works in the Trade Mark Department, doing litigation relating to trade marks, copyright, unlawful competition, company and close corporation name objections, domain names and counterfeit goods. He holds an LLB degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Jac works in the Commercial Law Department and specialises in all matters relating to competition law, trade regulation and commercial litigation. He is a member of the Law Society’s Competition Law Committee. Jac holds a BA degree in Value and Policy Studies and an LLB, both from the University of Stellenbosch as well as a certificate in Competition Law from The University of the Witwatersrand.
