Egypt: Late entry of PCT national phase applications allowed

The Minister for Higher Education and State for Scientific Research has published a notice in the Official Gazette No. 24 dated 31/1/2010, stating that applications can now be submitted for national phase entry in Egypt up to 3 months after expiry of the of the 30 month PCT national phase filing deadline, subject to payment of additional fees.
Further information on the requirements for late filing outside of the 30 month deadline in Egypt are being investigated and shall be made available on request.

There are 5 essential terms which need to be contained in a contract of suretyship, namely the identity of the creditor, the debtor, the surety and the nature and amount of the principal debt. Failure to complete the essential terms of the suretyship agreement would mean that the contract would be invalid for failure to comply with the statutory formalities.
