Adams & Adams donates books & furniture to TUKS Mamelodi campus

Law firm Adams and Adams has donated 450 books and R100 000 worth of furniture to the Mamelodi campus of the University of Pretoria.

Adams and Adams’ librarian Susan Olivier says the donation is comprised of excess copies of valuable books which are in mint condition.

“For example, where we received personal law books from practitioners that they no longer need, and of which the library already has copies, these were part of the donation. As is the case with any library, one needs to evaluate stock on a regular basis. We are happy to have found a willing recipient for our books. Knowing that the books will be put to good use now, assisted in this process.”

Campus library manager Jacob Mothutsi says the donation will be put to good use.

“Donations like these add tremendous academic value to students on the Mamelodi campus. The campus also supports a legal aid clinic which is well frequented by the local community. The donations by Adams and Adams, both the books and furniture, are welcomed as it assists greatly to aid the community,” said Mothutsi.

The firm practises directly in several Southern African countries and through long-established associates in others.
